The short version: some outbound product links on SaunaCentral.co.uk are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We never link to a product because the commission is higher — affiliate revenue doesn’t influence which products we recommend.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a tracked URL that tells the retailer’s analytics that you arrived from SaunaCentral. If you go on to buy within a set window (usually 24 hours to 30 days, depending on the programme), the retailer pays SaunaCentral a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is the same whether you click an affiliate link or go to the retailer directly.
How we use affiliate links on this site
- We use affiliate links where they exist and are competitive. If a product is best bought from a UK retailer that doesn’t run an affiliate programme, we link there anyway — we’d rather you bought from the right place than the place that pays us.
- We declare the affiliate relationship inline at the top of every review and buying guide that contains affiliate links, so you know before you read the recommendation.
- We do not let affiliate commissions influence which products make it into “best of” lists. Our methodology for those lists is published in our Editorial Policy.
- We do not let brands pay for placement in roundup articles. We do not accept “guaranteed top spot” deals.
Programmes we may participate in
The retailers and affiliate networks we work with vary by product category and change over time. At the time of writing, we may earn from purchases via Amazon UK, eBay UK, and select UK sauna manufacturers and importers via Awin, Webgains and direct programmes. If you’d like the current list, please contact us.
The builder directory
Our UK builder directory works differently from affiliate links. Builders can pay a fee to upgrade their directory listing to a featured or premium tier, which raises their visibility. This does not affect whether a builder appears at all — every published builder has been reviewed against our basic standards — and tier upgrades have no influence on editorial articles.
Your trust
The whole point of an independent authority site is that you can trust the recommendation. If we ever recommend something we wouldn’t buy ourselves, the site has failed. If you spot a recommendation that feels off, please tell us — we read every message and we will look into it.
